Set on Cobham High Street, The Bear is a historic pub and restaurant serving seasonal British food, well-kept drinks and proper pub classics in a warm, welcoming setting.
Dating back to the 1700s, we have long been a place for locals from Cobham, Oxshott and Leatherhead to gather, unwind and feel at home. Behind the bar, you’ll find local guest ales, craft beers, wines and classic serves, all poured just right.
In the kitchen, Head Chef Gilbert brings together the best of the seasons with a menu full of locally inspired dishes, comforting favourites and thoughtful twists. Whether you are joining us for lunch, dinner, Sunday roast, a private celebration, a meeting or a relaxed afternoon in our cosy bar, there is always a spot waiting for you.
We’re proud to be a dog-friendly pub, welcoming well-behaved dogs in our bar area and (covered and heated) garden. With free on-site parking, a prime spot in Cobham and easy access from the M25 and A3, The Bear is a favourite for guests travelling in from Weybridge, Leatherhead, Esher, Oxshott and beyond.

From cocktail classics (we’re big fans of a proper Espresso Martini) to tipples perfect for lazy afternoons by the fire, there’s something for every taste. Ideal for sipping post-hearty Sunday roast or just soaking up the autumnal pub atmosphere.
Whether it’s a round of cocktails, a romantic dinner for two, or indulging in one of our beloved Sunday roasts, our gift vouchers are the perfect treat for that special someone. Plus, they’ve got a full year of fun to look forward to.
Watch all the Autumn Nations fixtures live from Cobham’s favourite local pub. With multiple flat-screen TVs, sharing buckets of beers and great seasonal menus, we’re primed for every tackle and try.
Enjoy a homely offer from Head Chef Gilbert, alongside our pub classics (which you know and love). Our menus boast the best of British ingredients; everything from our burgers to highest-quality fish, we know you’ll find abundance of choice in our offer.

Filled with festive charm, seasonal cheer and a warm community spirit, we’ll make every Christmas get-together one to remember.
From private dinner parties to drinks socials, our bookable spaces are perfect for all styles of special events and occasions. With access to a private outdoor terrace from both our restaurant and Riverhill Room, we can offer a blank canvas for a bespoke event.

Sundays are a ritual, gathered around a table with your nearest and dearest. Start with a richly-spiced Bloody Mary, decide between our piled-high plates with the best seasonal ingredients, choose a just-because-it’s-Sunday sweet-treat, or after-dinner cocktail. At The Bear, Sunday afternoons turn into evenings, lazy lunches turn into one-more-drink and our Sunday roasts will leave you asking ‘shall we do this again next weekend?’.
